Mary the Mother of God and the Value and Restoration of Women

On Friday, May 8 at 7 pm, Michael taught a Zoom class to more than 30 people for

for the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral Community called,

Mary the Mother of God and the Value and Restoration of Women. The class lasted 90 minutes with an opening prayer service, lecture and then interactive discussion.

Class Description: Michael discussed the following topics:

The concept of motherhood within the Church, particularly spiritual motherhood

• The complete nature of God and what we call masculine and feminine qualities

• The two creation stories in Genesis as they pertain to this topic

• The life and actions of Mary the Theotokos and an examine of motherhood through her

• The words and actions of Christ when it comes to women
