Attended and spoke at the annual Orientale Lumen Conference in Washington DC this week. This is an annual ecumenical conference attended by Catholic and Orthodox clergy and laity at all levels to discuss the latest efforts and challenges to communion between the two churches. Each year focuses on a different theme. The theme this year was the two great councils held in 2016 in Chieti and Crete. My talk was entitled: "Reflections on Chieti and Crete: An Orthodox Lay Person's Perspective on Unity and Division."
