“It is not good that man [Adam] should be alone; I [God] will make him a helper [Eve] comparable to him.” (Genesis 2:18)

“In Genesis 2 there is also a subtle distinction of where man and woman were created. Man was created outside of paradise and placed there after he was created, but woman was created inside paradise. Woman is of paradise and was God’s final creation. I think this alone tells us something very important about the value of women.” (Sacramental Living)

“Further, even though Adam was in communion with God (sin had not entered the picture) God still said it was not good for him to be alone. Man was not complete, even though he was with God, until woman. These are powerful statements about the real value of women.” (Sacramental Living)

“Woman was made comparable to man as the Scripture reads, not inferior. Genesis 1 shows God creating both man and woman together as equals. Genesis 2 shows them created separately but still as equals. God, who had let Adam name the animals and thus previously let him participate in the creative process, does not do so when creating the woman. Instead, He removes Adam from the active process by putting him into a deep sleep when He creates Eve. He does take a rib from Adam signifying they are a part of each other.” (Sacramental Living)
